While studying in Europe in 1977, Edward John Phillips discovered many fine and exceptional handcrafts being made by local master craftspeople in their own homes and in small workshops throughout the villages of Europe. Inspired by these discoveries, he founded the import/wholesale company VillageHouse Importers Inc with his wife (Malgorzata Rusek) in 1987.

Over the years, VillageHouse has developed a heritage rich with new discoveries and product offerings from Europe’s finest master craftspeople. VillageHouse has carefully selected only the very best master craftspeople who are committed to creating handcrafted products of the highest quality in materials, craftsmanship, design and value.

In 2015, VillageHouse continued this heritage by discovering and launching its own brand of exceptional designer headwear. VillageHouse hats are made of Italian wool and acrylic fibers, polyester-cotton blend fabrics, and faux fur. They are either fully or partially lined with fleece, giving them a distinguishable and comfortable characteristic.
